Wylie City Council approved a new sister city relationship and advanced several commercial and residential developments during its regular meeting Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The meeting opened with recognitions, including a Shining the Way student from Wylie High School and a proclamation for Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week. Officials also recognized The Wall That Heals, a traveling exhibit honoring Vietnam War veterans and service members who died in the conflict. Mayor Mathew Porter issued a special proclamation declaring Nov. 18 as Mary Lang Day for her role in bringing the exhibit to the city and for her service to local veterans.
Council members unanimously approved the consent agenda before considering several zoning and development items.
