GARLAND – Wylie scored 21 points in both the second and third quarters in its dominant 49-28 victory over the Lakeview Centennial Patriots on Thursday night at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.

Running back Daylon Gordon was the standout star the Pirates as he rushed for 238 yards and four total touchdowns on the night. Whenever Wylie (4-5, 4-3 District 9-6A) needed some yards, Gordon was the man it called upon to get them.

With quarterback Jabriran Blake back in the lineup, Wylie was able to air the ball out more than it did against Garland. Blake was phenomenal, as he threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for two scores as well.

The win kept Wylie’s dreams of making the postseason alive. However, should both Garland and Naaman Forest win tomorrow, then the Pirates will be eliminated.

Should the team stay in contention, it’ll get another crack at furthering that cause next week in the Crosstown Showdown against Wylie East. That game will be played on Nov. 7 at Wylie ISD Stadium.
