Wylie East outscored Naaman Forest 27-0 over the final 6:27 of the second quarter to turn a narrow seven-point lead into an eventual 44-15 win at Wylie ISD Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 16.

One of the scores was a 68-yard defensive touchdown by senior Nash Chapman — a huge momentum swing in the game, denying Naaman Forest the chance to make it a two-possession game while allowing the Raiders to build a 27-point lead.

Wylie East held Naaman Forest to 207 total yards.

The Raiders took a 7-0 lead on a 34-yard touchdown run by senior Jon Connelly and ensuing PAT kick by junior Geovani Darquea with 9:14 left in the first quarter.

It remained a seven-point game until midway through the second quarter.

Senior quarterback Jaiden McLemore went 16 of 22 through the air for 213 yards with four total touchdowns.

McLemore’s third touchdown pass — a 17-yard strike to senior King Baribe on a hook-and-ladder play from McLemore to junior Amir Porter back to Baribe — came moments after senior Noah Janshego recovered an onside kick. Baribe’s touchdown catch increased Wylie East”s lead to 34-0.

Wylie East improves to 7-0 overall, 5-0 in District 9-6A.
