The State Fair of Texas opens Friday, and for those who love to stroll through the Creative Arts building, the work of a Sachse glass artist will once again be on display.
Jamaison Schuler, owner of Four Leaves Glassworks, has competed at the fair for the past four years. This year he added two more ribbons to his growing collection — now eight in all: three blue, three red, a third place and an honorable mention.
Entering in the professional category, he earned third place in glass and second place in the State Fair theme division this year.
“Last year I got the double blue ribbon in the glass category, and I also won second place in professional jewelry,” Schuler said. “This year, I didn’t quite match that, but I’ll take any ribbon. It’s fun. It’s just bragging rights, I guess, and being on display.”
