The Wylie City Council voted Aug. 12 to accept the proposed property tax rate for the 2025-26 fiscal year and set a public hearing later this month for the final vote.
The no new revenue tax rate was calculated at $0.521441 per $100 valuation, while the voter approval rate is $0.543438. The city’s proposed budget is based on the voter approval rate.
Last year’s rate was $0.534, meaning the proposed amount represents about a one-cent increase. Council members approved the resolution 6-0, with Council Member Scott Williams absent.
