Wednesday marked the first day during the current school year that student-athletes, other than football, can sign a National Letter of Intent.

Wylie High had nine seniors that signed a NLOI in front of friends, family, coaches and teammates inside Montgomery Center.

Addison Oestreicher and Kaeli Drake will team up beyond their final year of high school with both Lady Pirates inking with Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Two members of Wylie High’s men’s lacrosse team are college bound. Vance Flick will continue his career at William Jewell College while Austin Egler will play for Southwestern University.

Egler is one of two Wylie seniors who are headed to Southwestern University. Senior setter Taylor Johnson will play women’s volleyball. Johnson recently helped to lead Wylie to the third round of the Class 6A-Division I playoffs. Her Wylie High teammate, libero Sadie Warren, signed with Utah State.

Abigail Bray will run women’s cross country and track and field for Stephen F. Austin..

Kayla Santiago of the Wylie softball team will remain in the Lone Star State after she signed with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, while her Lady Pirates teammate, Macey Stephenson, will play for Hutchinson Community College.
