The Wylie Pirates wrapped up their pre-Thanksgiving slate with a pair of wins over Lake Highlands and J.J. Pearce on the Monday and Tuesday prior to the holiday. With the two wins, the Pirates moved to 3-4 on the season, before getting a small break from the hardwood.
In their Monday-afternoon contest at Lake Highlands, neither team got off to a great start. Still, it would be Wylie to take the early advantage, thanks to a trio of threes with two coming from Jackson Rogers.
Rogers has gotten out to a hot start to his senior year, and last week’s two games were no exception. His two shots from beyond the three-point arc helped the Pirates go up 14-11 after a quarter of play, and Rogers would go on to sink three more in the game on his way to a game-high 21 points.
