Prater commits as acrotumbler

by | Nov 23, 2021 | Latest, Sports

Audrey Prater turned her competitive cheerleading experience into a new opportunity, committing to become a collegiate acrobatic tumbler at West Liberty University in West Virginia.

The Wylie East student signed with the public NCAA Division II school during the early signing period. She will be joining the team as a base and a tumbler, which requires her to hold up her teammates and “do all the fun flips.”

The WLU program was created in 2018 and has competed in the spring the last four years. They are a part of the Mountain East Conference, the first conference to add acrobatics and tumbling as a championship sport. Prater said she’s been thrilled with her opportunity to interact with coach Kelsey Kyle and can’t wait to start with the team next spring.
