by | Oct 29, 2021 | Latest, Sports

The Wylie East football team (1-4, 3-6) allowed 21 unanswered points, losing a non-district game to Paris 35-14 Thursday, Oct. 28.

Play of the Game: Wildcats extend lead off of passing touchdown

Entering the fourth quarter, Wylie East had the ball, trailing Paris 14-7. With no room for error, the Raiders fumbled a third time, giving the Wildcats excellent field position. The Wildcats capitalized on the next drive, as Luke Lohenberger passed to Gi’taeus Young for a 32-yard touchdown. The score opened a 21-point quarter for Paris.

An interception was returned for a touchdown on the next drive that extended the Wildcats lead to 28-7. Wylie East added their own passing touchdown on the next drive, but it wasn’t enough to keep it close.

The Raiders travel to Highland Park for their final game of district play Friday, Nov. 5.

A full recap of Wylie East versus Paris game will be available in the Nov. 3 issue of The Wylie News.
