Wylie City Council members took comments during a pair of public hearings on zoning changes and denied a request for a change in exterior building materials on a retail building during its regular session held last week.
The council convened Tuesday, May 28 at the Municipal Complex on Country Club Road.
Application for a zoning change from agricultural to planned development for a housing subdivision at 1751 McMillen Road was withdrawn by developer Baldwin Associates, but the public hearing was conducted.
Plans called for up to 97 residential lots on 24.5 acres that wraps around the Wylie United Methodist Church property. The development called for lot sizes of 6,500-7,200 square feet and minimum house sizes of 1,800 square feet. City standards dictate minimums of 10,000 square feet lot sizes and 2,400 square feet houses.
