CYPRESS – It was a perfect ending to the 2019 season for Wylie East wrestling.

The Raiders had two out of five grapplers earn medals in last week’s Class 5A state tournament.

They claimed 15th out of 89 teams at the Berry Center in Cypress.

“That’s a great accomplishment for this program,” WEHS head coach Tad Hazlewood said.

Geronimo Saucedo closed out his high school career in storybook fashion with a third straight appearance at state.
