Wylie City Manager to retire

by | Jan 23, 2019 | Latest

After 24 years of service to Wylie, a dozen of those years in the chief administrative post, City Manager Mindy Manson plans to retire effective April 30.

Manson submitted her letter of retirement to the city at the Tuesday, Jan. 22, city council meeting.

“While we will absolutely miss the leadership, commitment and dedication Mindy has always shown to our city, the city council and city staff, we wish her well on this next chapter of her life,” Mayor Eric Hogue said.

Manson joined the city staff in 1995 as assistant to the city manager, was promoted to assistant city manager in 1998 and was promoted to city manager in 2006. She is the longest-serving city manager in Wylie’s 131-year history.

The city manager was awarded the Linda Keithley Award last year, recognizing an outstanding woman in public management, and was named one of the honorees in the 2018 Women in Business Awards of Dallas Business Journal.
