Threat closes city complex

by | Dec 19, 2018 | Latest

Wylie Municipal Complex was evacuated Thursday afternoon, Dec. 13, when an anonymous bomb threat, later determined to be a nation widehoax, was received on a computer.

Police were alerted at 12:10 p.m. to the threat that there was a bomb located inside a building at the Municipal Complex, 300 Country Club Road, Sgt. Donald English reported.

The email also demanded that the recipient pay $20,000 in crypto currency Bitcoin.

Wylie police quickly evacuated the city hall, library and recreation, and with firefighters conducted several sweeps of the buildings looking for suspicious packages.
