For a second straight year the Lady Raiders can call themselves District 15-5A champions.

Wylie East pulled off the feat after rolling West Mesquite 52-19 and host Forney 61-27.

“I’m very excited for the girls. They have worked really hard this season to prove they deserve the title again. I’m blessed to be a part of the ride,” WEHS Meaghan Hodapp said.

In combination with a 55-44 Lovejoy defeat to Mesquite Poteet.

The Lady Raiders improved to 27-5 overall and 12-1 in district, as of Monday, Feb. 5. Being the top seed, they’ll face the fourth place finisher from 16-5A.

In that grouping are Sulphur Springs, Texarkana Texas High, Mt. Pleasant, Greenville, Longview Pine Tree, Marshall and Hallsville.
