The playground area of Olde City Park in downtown Wylie is closed for about a month while new play equipment is installed.

In addition to Olde City Park, Public Services Director Mike Sferra reported that new playground equipment also will be installed at Creekside Park and Pirate Cove in Founder’s Park.

“We are replacing the playground equipment with some new equipment,” Sferra said of the downtown project. “We had a hodgepodge that didn’t go together.”

The new equipment, he explained, includes a unit designed for children ages 5 to 12, another unit for children ages two to five, and two bays of swings. Additionally, shade covers will be erected over part of the equipment.
