Basketball updates 2-3-16

Wylie’s boys moved into third within District 10-5A following a 70-57 win Tuesday over Sherman. The Pirates (7-3) trail McKinney North and Prosper (each 8-2) and are one game ahead of McKinney and Wylie  East (each 6-4). The Raiders defeated McKinney 63-58 to stay in the playoff race.The top four teams in the district will go to the postseason.

On the girls’ side, Wylie is now tied with Wylie East and Lovejoy (each 5-7) for fourth after edging Sherman 41-38 on Tuesday. East fell 53-42 to McKinney, which holds third at 8-4. Prosper and McKinney North are tied for first at 11-1.

The Wylie teams will host Lovejoy this Friday, while the East squads will play at Denison.
