Basketball update 1/16/16

Michael Gipson’s last-second lay up propelled Wylie’s boys to a 53-51 victory over McKinney North; at 5-0, the Pirates are now in sole possession of first place in 10-5A. The Lady Pirates fell to 2-5 after losing 53-24 to McKinney North.

Wylie East’s boys are 2-3 in district play after falling 83-80 at Sherman, while the Lady Raiders are 4-3 following a 56-46 victory over the Lady Bearcats. East travels Tuesday to McKinney North and will host Wylie on Friday. The Pirates and Lady Pirates will host McKinney on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
