The Christmas season hits full stride Saturday in downtown Wylie with a full day of holiday events capped with a visit by Santa Claus.
On tap are the annual Wylie Arts Festival, Christmas parade and community tree lighting ceremony. Activities include arts and crafts items for sale, food, shopping, music and entertainment for children.
The day gets started at 10 a.m. when the Arts Festival opens in the First Baptist Church Event Center, offering a climate controlled venue in case the weather turns sour. At last count, 122 vendors had been selected by the Wylie Public Arts Board to ensure a diverse selection of arts and crafts items ranging from jewelry to home décor, clothing, paintings and gift items.
