MCKINNEY — It began last Thursday evening and concluded early Friday afternoon.
For Wylie East, the “it” was a district contest with McKinney, one that was delayed for nearly 17 hours because of lightning, which ended with the Raiders prevailing 55-10 to improve 7-1 overall and 5-0 in District 10-5A.
The victory kept East alone in first place and clinched a playoff berth. They will host Denison 7:30 p.m. Friday for Senior Night and then close out the regular season Friday, Nov. 6 at Sherman.
“I feel real good right now, because in the last two weeks we’ve been playing real good football, and that’s what you want this time of the year,” said East head coach Joe Lepsis.
