The Wylie East Raiders reclaimed cross-town bragging rights with a 56-28 win Friday night over Wylie, and, in the process, improved to 2-0 in District 10-5A (4-1 overall), giving them a leg up in the race for a district crown.

Friday’s defeat dropped the Pirates to 1-1 in 10-5A competition and 2-3 overall.

East finds itself tied with Lovejoy for the district lead (each at 2-0), with Wylie, Prosper, Denison and McKinney North battling for third and fourth. The Raiders travel 7:30 p.m. Friday to Prosper, while the Pirates will host Denison at the same time.

This past Friday, Lovejoy slaughtered Sherman 45-14, while Denison handled McKinney 35-13. In other action, McKinney North beat Prosper 46-18.
