RICHARDSON — A year ago, following losses to Sachse and Mesquite Poteet, the Pirates discovered a cure in Richardson, whipping the Eagles 56-6. That victory set the tone for the rest of the 2014 season, one in which they captured a District 10-5A crown.
Whether or not last Friday’s 50-23 win over Richardson at Eagle-Mustang Stadium, which also came after losses to Sachse and Poteet, leads to the same result remains to be seen. However, one thing is sure, Wylie was happy to get the victory and head into this weekend’s bye at 1-2.
The season resumes Sept. 25 at McKinney in the 10-5A opener for both teams. All eight district teams will be idle this weekend.
