WISD volleyball teams each 2-1 in district play

Each Wylie ISD volleyball team sported a winning 2-1 record following last week’s district action.

In the case of Wylie’s Lady Pirates, they traveled north to sweep Denison 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 and then returned home Friday to stave off McKinney North in five sets, 25-17, 16-25, 25-18,19-25, 15-11. They were scheduled to host powerful Prosper on Tuesday and will head to McKinney this Friday, followed by another road trip next Tuesday, Sept. 29 to Sherman.

Meanwhile, Wylie East fell 20-25, 12-25, 19-25 to Prosper, but rebounded Friday to sweep Sherman 25-19,l 25-15, 25-20. The Lady Raiders hosted defending state champ Lovejoy on Tuesday and will host McKinney North this Friday and then do the same next Tuesday, Sept. 29 versus McKinney.
