The 23rd Annual Wylie Championship Rodeo held over the weekend proved that the sport comes down to fractions of a second, or single points, in determining who wins and who falls to the runner-up spot.

Wylie Chamber of Commerce hosted the two-day event held Friday and Saturday.

The competition was sanctioned by United Professional Rodeo Association and featured cowboys and cowgirls from Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana competing in bareback riding, ranch bronc, tie-down roping, breakaway roping, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding.
