In an effort to help more animals find their forever home, the Wylie Shelter will participate Aug. 15 in a Clear the Shelters event.
The area-wide event is scheduled to run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wylie Shelter.
During the special adoption event, all spayed and neutered animals will be available to the public at no cost, although other fees may apply.
The event will include municipal shelters, county shelters and non-profit shelters in an effort to place animals in homes.
In addition to the event, the Wylie Shelter will offer a low-cost vaccine clinic 10 am to noon.

The shelter is located at 949 Hensley Ln., Building 100.
The shelter is open 8 a.m. to noon and 1:30-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
They are closed on Sunday.
