More than 100 young witches and wizards showed up to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday at Rita and Truett Smith Public Library in Wylie.

The party was held Friday afternoon.

Activities included a Sorting Hat to divide attendees into their proper houses at Hogwarts, scavenger hut trivia, Quidditch, a photo booth and crafts.

To complete the scavenger hunt, participants had to answer Harry Potter trivia questions to get clues to follow in the library. Maps of the library that looked like the Marauder’s Map from the Harry Potter books were available.

A scaled down version of the sport Quidditch was played in a meeting room with participants riding brooms while tossing plastic balls through a series of rings.

Winners of the costume contest were Chelsea Gomez, Most Original; Evelyn Wyeth, Overall Favorite; and Eliza King, Best Homemade. There were 38 entries in the costume contest.
