The Agape Resource and Assistance Center invites volunteers to help plant more than 80 trees at the new Jericho Village from 12 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30. Tools and guidance will be provided, so experience is not required. Lunch will take place during the optional tour at noon.
The community located at 511 West Brown Street in Wylie was designed to meet Collin County’s need for economically attainable housing.
The income-based village will feature nine multi-family buildings, a community center and garden, a playground and outdoor gathering areas and onsite support services. Through the program, individuals and families in need of housing will also have the resources to build stability and self sufficiency.
The nonprofit also encourages donations through their Adopt-a-Tree program. Donors can choose between small, medium and large trees, and each adopted tree will have a personalized plaque.
