Area churches often provide help to the community with basic needs, but sometimes they are called to serve in an even bigger way.
For the past year, Hope for the Cities, a ministry of First Baptist Wylie, has delivered over 325,000 meals and paid nearly $100,000 for rent, utilities, and other needs, resulting in over 1,000 families served.
To aid its mission, the ministry is holding a fundraiser called Night of Hope, Sunday, Dec. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Night of Hope will include a silent auction and entertainment provided by the Wylie High School and Wylie East High School jazz bands.
