Wylie

WHS graduate Denis Mangic was recently awarded the ACT Foundations community cares scholarship, an award of $1,000. The scholarship is given to 25 individuals who will be attending a four-year U.S. college or university. Mangic received the scholarship over a record number of applicants.

Denis lives in Wylie with his parents Enisa and Alija Mangic. He plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall.

 The following residents graduated from Sam Houston State University during the spring 2015 commencement ceremony: Dallas Andrews graduated with a Bachelor of Business Admin in Marketing; Zina Coburn graduated with a Bachelor of Business Admin in General Business; Elizabeth Omehe graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences; and Sean Ragsdale graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

Melissa Bancewicz, Sarah Hendrix, Tristen Rouse, Joshua Vela and Kaedan Watts were named to the Dean’s List at Stephen F. Austin State University for the spring semester.

The following graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University during the May commencement ceremony: Alysson Bower graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology; Martin Filip graduated with a Master of Education in Educational Leadership; Sarah Hendrix graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater; and Kaedan Watts graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement.

Sachse

Sachse resident Marcuse Baxter graduated from Kent State University with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the College of Podiatric Medicine during the 2015 spring commencement ceremony.

Murphy

Amy Button was named to the Oklahoma City University Dean’s Honor Roll.

Lavon

Dwight Watson graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Stephen F. Austin University during the May commencement ceremony.
