A medical leave taken by Wylie Police Chief John Duscio has turned into a lengthy affair now stretching for four months.

City Manager Mindy Manson can only confirm that Duscio is on medical leave with pay and that he is expected to return to duty soon. Federal laws prohibit imparting details on an individual’s medical condition.

The officer joined the Wylie department in 2007 as assistant chief and was promoted to chief in January 2008.

Earlier this year, Anthony Henderson was promoted from patrol lieutenant to assistant chief and is presently acting as head of the police department until Duscio’s return.
