From Staff Reports
Cici’s Pizza in Wylie was unintentionally remodeled Saturday afternoon when a sports utility vehicle rammed into the front of the building, leaving a gaping hole.
An elderly woman who was driving the SUV, a Nissan XTerra, as well as another adult and five children were treated for minor injuries.
The wreck occurred when an 88-year-old woman accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal in her car, propelling the vehicle into the restaurant at 2014 N. Hwy. 78, Wylie police reports show.
Employees of the restaurant administered first aid to the injured until emergency medical personnel arrived.
The restaurant reopened for business Sunday in spite of the hole in its front.
No charges were expected to be filed in the crash.
